The PDS excludes some liability claims, including those involving firearms, motor vehicles, some watercraft and animals.

Who can get this cover?

This travel insurance pathway may suit eligible Marsh Sport clients, including athletes, sport participants and families travelling for sport.

For non-professional participation, many listed sport and leisure activities may be automatically covered when participation is amateur or recreational, including school, club or college fixtures or competitions.

Professional athletes and some representative athletes should use the professional athlete pathway. The insurer will review the sport and travel details before confirming whether cover can be offered.

Eligibility snapshot

Travellers must meet the eligibility rules in the PDS. These include rules for Australian residents, some non-permanent residents of Australia and some travellers already overseas.

In many cases, travellers must be aged 75 years or under at the time of travel. The insurer may agree to insure travellers aged over 75 before the policy is issued, subject to its assessment.

Dependent children may be included when they meet the PDS requirements and are named on the Certificate of Insurance.
